CatchCat on iPhone? iOS Is Rolling Out by Region
CatchCat's iOS rollout began July 16, 2026, but it is not in every country's App Store yet. If it is missing in your region, Cat Collector is free on the App Store: snap a real cat, add it to your collection, and collect the cats other people are catching.
CatchCat's iOS rollout
Solo developer Sebastian Seidel launched CatchCat on Android in June 2026, then began its iOS rollout on July 16. You photograph real cats and collect them like Pokemon. Dexerto, GameRant, and SVG all covered the Android launch as Pokemon GO with the actual cats of your neighborhood.
The iPhone release is rolling out by storefront. Apple lists it in Canada and the UK, while searches in the US and Germany do not show it yet. CatchCat's own site says iOS availability may vary by region during the rollout.
How Cat Collector differs
Cat Collector is built on the same idea. The difference is what a catch becomes. You see a real cat, you snap a photo, and the app checks it's an actual cat and lifts it onto a die-cut sticker card: your photo, the place you found it, and your name, all on one hand-drawn trading card.
No AI stats, no battles. The cat is the point. Your collection is the real cats you've met.
Cat Collector vs CatchCat
How catching works
- Catch a cat. Photograph one you meet and it joins your collection.
- Collect from the feed. Other people's catches live in the New Cat Feed for you to claim.
- Watch the weekly Top Cat. Each neighborhood crowns one based on who gets collected most.
- Text them as stickers. Cats you have collected show up in the iMessage keyboard.
